Touchstone: Experience a Colors In Motion moment:
New Year's Resolution:

Dance into life!
Begin my day with a dance of color, of motion, of song, of thought, for a minute or an hour.
Make space each month of 2012 to savor the art of TOUCHSTONE and bring it into my own life.

This TOUCHSTONE opens with liquid motions of Meg Brooker emerging from the colors of Linda DeHart's paintings, accented with the dancing holiday lights of Central Square, Cambridge. Add Smile, a piano composition from Josh Hummel's album, "Overcome." The smile that we put on our face glows from deep inside, lighting us from the inside out, an irresistible radiance that spreads to others.

We are inspired by the words of Ken Ingram, who recently discovered TOUCHSTONEs. After viewing a few of them, Ken was led to go back and view the complete 2011 set.

Individually, I found them to be interesting pieces of art, unique in their presentation, and clearly designed to create a relaxing mood.

As a group, they became more powerful. By being engaged for a longer period, I felt a sense of wellness, not just a mood shift. I find myself going back to them as part of a routine, which includes yoga and meditation.

I look forward to receiving more TOUCHSTONEs and increasing their space in my life.

OVERCOME
OvercomeSmile arises from "Overcome," a series of solo piano improvisations by Aril, Josh Hummel's musical pseudonym. Each piece explores a single action and portrays a mood that might spring from it, creating a kind of musical snapshot for each act.

I felt my breath deepen and slow down, and I lost the frenetic feeling I often have when searching for information online. What a great reminder to be present and receptive, even when at the computer.

OMG that was incredible. I actually felt like a healing was taking place in my heart and head.

Good to be reminded. Oh, yeah, I forgot that!

A very welcome right-brain break late in a somewhat stressful left-brain workday.

The watercolors are magic. The music is sweet.

I totally relaxed my body as the images and music played. Bit by bit I felt a letting go.
