Touchstone: Experience a Colors In Motion moment:

Flags of One Family
Flags of One Family (also called Wings of the Heart) are a symbol of all humans on earth, for unity and cooperation. They create for people the feeling of belonging to our planet. Travel to outer space shows us that we are no longer limited by geopolitical boundaries, and are a whole, living, interconnected organism. Colors In Motion October TOUCHSTONE, Flags of One Family, leads the viewer into a moment of deep peace and serenity, reminding us of what truly unites us all, our humanity and our likeness.

In 1984, Linda DeHart created these flags, which people are using in celebrations for peace around the world. Their many colors and sizes visually depict our diversity and one-ness, beauty, and harmony. Flags that unite (rather than separate) make visible the intention of people to work together, as all people on Earth. Celebrations incorporating Flags of One Family have appeared for the past 28 years all over the world, including in 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Nicholas Roerich Museum in Moscow, events with The World Peace Prayer Society in New York, and many other locations.

During the summer of 2012, Colors In Motion dancer Meg Brooker and Boston-area Emily Mott of Songiver Studio were filmed at Noyes School of Rhythm in Connecticut. Linda DeHart and digital compositor and videographer Christopher Graefe worked collaboratively to create a new celebration for Flags of One Family to be shared on digital platforms in public spaces around the world.

Linda has been using "Mother Earth's Lullaby" by Synchestra, ©1981 by Ed Van Fleet during celebrations with Wings of the Heart. A multi-instrumentalist, Ed plays nearly all the instruments on his recordings, and has created soundtracks for 17 films and documentaries. Ed is excited to contribute an excerpt from "Slopes" of "Mother Earth's Lullaby."
