Touchstone: Experience a Colors In Motion moment:

Meg Brooker dreamily swirls in refreshing lake water. We are taken gently into another dimension - of wonder, emotion, memory, and interpretation - through the imagery of Martin Berinstein, who photographs "the mysterious dance between liquids and solids." These images are from his remarkable series of bubble photography. The subtly blended swirl paintings by Linda DeHart invite yet another dimension. Under Linda DeHart's and Christopher Graefe's creative formation, Christopher's compositing synchronizes these images with the music of Joshua Hummel. The interplay of elements invites a reverie, as we witness breathtaking beauty in a place curiously calm.

Chris videographed Meg dancing in Great Hill Pond at the Noyes School of Rhythm in Portland, Connecticut, where Meg is a certified Noyes Rhythm Teacher. This is also where Linda's watercolors were created, reflective of the special environment at the school which brings forth such diverse creativity.

Martin Berinstein, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, practices his art in Boston's vibrant Fort Point Artist Community. His fascination with light and reflection has lead to a lifelong career as a photographer. His work has been exhibited at Harvard University, the Boston Public Library and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.

Dance and Movement Artist Meg Brooker performs and teaches around the world. A graduate of Yale University and The University of Texas Graduate School, she is the founder of MB Arts and is dedicated to inspiring creative expression through dance, yoga, applied drama classes, workshops, and performances. Meg has recently accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Dance at Middle Tennessee State University.

Joshua Hummel is the owner of Sinensis Music and composes a wide variety of ambient and concert music. For this TOUCHSTONE, Josh brilliantly worked with the transitions, adding texture and melody to this reverie. Josh's stellar talent has been recognized with numerous music awards including The Leonard Bernstein Award for Composition, ASCAP.

COLORS IN MOTION IN CHINA
Colors In Motion is making its debut in China this fall at real-estate developer Orenda's Taichi stage and theater, thanks to an introduction by our frequent collaborator, expressive arts and sound healer Chinling Hsu.

Just outside of Peijin, China, close to The Great Wall, the permanent installation will be playing Colors In Motion content on three digital displays on the Taichi stage, conveying the spirit of Orenda; a balanced, harmonized life with Nature, the essence of Taichi philosophy, in opposition to our consumption-based, post-industrialization modern society. The goal of the Taichi stage and the community which surrounds it is to create a real Utopia, where people can find ultimate peace and joy: Colors In Motion is creating the inner Utopia and Orenda is bringing it to life in the reality of harmonized Taichi.

Thank you, Chinling, for this prestigious crossover of cultures and, in this way, for uniting our human spirits through the arts.
