Touchstone: Experience a Colors In Motion moment

The essential creativity of life is often beyond our awareness. With Slow Dancing, we can enter the transpersonal dimension and discover a deeper relationship, rhythms of vulnerability, and repose.

Linda DeHart brought her desire to make visual the nuances of human connectedness between two people through dance, bringing together this collaboration and directing the production of Slow Dancing. This expression beautifully aligns with Colors In Motion's mission to find centered calm innate in us all, moving between the familiar and the unfamiliar.

Mariko Cantley and Nazar Batih are US National Champion and World Vice Champion professional ballroom dancers collaborating with Colors In Motion to create this extraordinary combination of the arts.

"Connection and non verbal communication are so fundamental to ballroom dancing that they eventually become subconscious. In Slow Dancing, exploring these elements consciously brought a depth and playfulness to our performance that was a delight to experience," says Mariko. You can find them on Facebook and Instagram.

Acclaimed jazz musician Stan Strickland's inspired sounds amplify human relatedness, conveyed in the intensity of focus between Mariko and Nazar and their graceful movements. Together with Stan's layering of saxophone, flute, and mbira, our emotions are touched from the depth of our personal experience.

Christopher Graefe's compositing of the ballroom dance movements simultaneously merges the past, present and future, Into a broader field of perception, engaging Colors In Motion's signature mission to bring beauty and centered calm into our fast paced lives.

Colors In Motion continues to develop a close collaboration with Kosmos Journal, and a resonance with their theme - transformation in harmony with all Life. Our work was featured in their Summer Quarterly, and will be featured again in 2019.
